and a track based on the fantastic The Silent Scream from the 80’s TV spin off Hammer House of Horror series, starring the masterly Peter Cushing. When Chuck Spillers is released from prison, he hopes to make a new life with his wife Annie, but find that money is in short supply. While inside, Spillers was visited by a pet shop owner, Martin Blueck, a Nazi concentration camp survivor, who now offers him a job. In the basement of his shop, Blueck keeps a menagerie of dangerous wild animals, kept in open cages controlled by electric fields. Blueck goes away on business and Spiller spots Blueck’s safe - will he revert to his old criminal ways? And if he does, what sort of retribution would the apparently kindly Blueck be capable of?

Straight on till morning is a Hammer love story - a strange and unique departure for the studio known mainly for its horror hits.Brenda (Rita Tushingham) lives in Liverpool, in a time where options and employment were hard; things are made harder for Brenda who simply wants a baby. One day she tells her mother the first lie of her life, she says she is pregnant; even though she is not. And with that leaves Liverpool behind and heads for London. Not the smartest cookie in the jar Brenda tries accosting random men in the street, literally propositioning them in her quest to be a mother. But first things first Brenda needs a roof over her head and a job, so approaches fashion store owner Jimmy Lindsey (the late Tom Bell) for a job. Through this chain of events she meets Joey (James Bolam) who she highlights as her potential future love interest and father to her baby. Sadly Joey only has eyes for Caroline (Katya Wyeth) and Brenda is left out in the cold. But then she sees him, Peter (Shane Briant) an attractive, rich and charismatic man and engages in an elaborate series of events to secure her man. But Peter might not be all that he seems.

The initial inspiration for our work was the stunning performance of screen goddess Valerie Leon in the 1971 masterpiece ‘Blood of the Mummies Tomb’ Please see the clip attached. Our track ‘Valerie Leon (queen of neon)’ ensued quickly after the films discovery!

The movie involves the evil legacy of an expedition led by Professor Fuchs (Keir) to find the cursed tomb of an evil Egyptian princess, whose body is found to be perfectly, unaturally preserved after two millenia. Fuchs becomes obsessed by Princess Tera’s beauty and takes the body and sarcoughagus home to London, building a secret shrine in his basement. Not long after, his daughter Margeret (Leon), who bears an uncanny resemblance to the princess, starts to experience strange dreams. A sinister man, who only she seems to notice, watches her from the derelict house across the road. Margaret begins to wonder if she’s going mad, and starts experiencing wild personality changes. Soon the evil will of Tera, reaching up through the house, begins to periodically take over Margaret’s mind and body. The strange man is revealed as Corbeck (Villiers), one of the expedition members, who is working to restore to Tera to life and a new reign of terror, and with his help Margaret kills the other desecrators of Tera’s tomb one by one. Corbeck, Margeret and her increasingly unhinged father start the ritual to waken the princess. Professor Fuchs finally sees sense and convinces her to stop the ritual; together they overpower and kill Corbeck. Tera awakes, and in the attempt to stop Tera, the Professor is killed. After a long struggle, Margaret stabs Tera in the heart and she dies. In the end, Magaret wakes up from unconsciousness and finds herself in the hospital. Her whole body is wrapped in bandages and she is trying to say something.
